PESHAWAR, Nov 24: The Peshawar High Court on Monday granted bail to an alleged drug pusher.

A single bench comprising Justice Tariq Pervez ordered that applicant Haya Khan should be released after furnishing two sureties of Rs200,000 each.

The applicant was arrested by the Kohat police when he was travelling in a bus bound for Karachi on Aug 11.

The police had claimed recovering 10kg of charas from a bag found in the luggage section of the bus. The police had said that the bag belonged to the same passenger.

The bail application of Haya Khan was earlier dismissed by the additional district and sessions judge in Kohat.

The applicant’s counsel contended that the police had not established that the bag belonged to the applicant. He stated that neither the police had recovered the key of the bag nor the luggage slip.—Bureau
