ISLAMABAD, Dec 30: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said Pakistan is being pushed on the defensive, despite a just stance, because of its ineffective response to the Indian propaganda on the international media.

Talking to a group of reporters here on Sunday, Mr Qadri asked the government to take the media front seriously and ensure that the Indian designs to malign Pakistan were not fulfilled due to the ineffective media response of the Pakistani side.

He reminded the Indian government that it would not be able to pressurize Pakistan and said that the nation was united in the current situation.

The PAT chief said South Asia could not attain stability without the resolution of Kashmir issue through a peaceful dialogue among all the affected parties.

He said the Indian government’s resort to extremism could result in a catastrophe in South Asia. Under the present volatile situation in the region, India is acting irresponsibly, he added.

Dr Qadri said Indian objectives were clear to all the peace- loving forces of the world. On one hand, India wanted to prolong the economic difficulties of Pakistan and on the other, wanted to have the world believe that there was only one solution to the Kashmir issue and that was the military solution.

He stated that India had branded the freedom struggle of Kashmiris as terrorism to pressurize Pakistan into withdrawing the moral and diplomatic support of the Kashmir freedom movement.
