LANDI KOTAL: Pakistan on Tuesday deported 254 Afghans to Afghanistan through the Torkham border. Officials said the unregistered Afghans were awaiting their deportation since June 14 when the Torkham border was closed due to clashes between Afghan and Pakistani security forces over the construction of a gate on the Pakistani side of the border.

They said the deported Afghans were arrested from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and were later charged under the Foreigners Act and handed over to Khyber Agency political administration for their deportation to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, a tailor was stabbed to death by his estranged nephew here the other day.

Khasadar officials said Aslam scolded his young nephew, Zubair, for coming late to his shop in Landi Kotal Bazaar. The nephew got infuriated with the reprimand and attacked his uncle with scissors, wounding him critically. The wounded was rushed to local hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Khasadars took Zubair into custody and sent the body of Aslam to Charsadda from where both the deceased and his nephew hailed.

Meanwhile, an FC man was killed and 12 were injured when their vehicle overturned in Jamrud on Tuesday.

Officials said the accident occurred due to over-speeding in Shah Kas area. Naik Etebar Hussain Khattak died on the spot. The injured were shifted to CMH, Peshawar.
