ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: Saudi Ambassador Ali Awadh Asseri said on Sunday that recent terrorist attacks in Riyadh had not deterred the Saudi kingdom from the resolve to wipe out terrorism from its soil.

He said this at an Iftar dinner he hosted for media persons.

The ambassador made it clear that the Saudi government would deal with criminals with an iron fist, emphasising that there would be no room for negotiations or dialogue with those implicated, as it was a question of national security.

“The government of Saudi Arabia is going to fight these criminals with determination and vigour. We are going to chase them. We are going to hunt them. We are going to make sure that they do not cause harm to innocent people,” was his emphatic assurance.

He disclosed that the Saudi forces had apprehended 600 terrorist suspects since 9/11.

Noting that the Saudi government had a “very good” relationship with the US, he said the kingdom had exchanged information with the Americans after the attacks in Riyadh. — Staff Reporter
