Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in the process to rope in former New Zealand Captain Brendon McCullum and former Aussie pacer Mitchell Johnson for the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to a top PSL official, the PCB is in contact with the two T20 superstars, who are expected to feature in the franchise-based tournament.

The official further said the player draft for PSL 2 will be held in mid-October. "The names for PSL Draft will be finalised till 5 September after which the administration will go ahead with the draft," he told.

The first edition of the five-team tournament was held in February earlier this year and the second edition is expected to kick off the same month next year. The official, however, declined to comment on the possibility of conducting the league at an alternative venue.

PCB weighing options to host the West Indies later this year in October due to the limited revenue generated from U.A.E.

The prize money will also be increased for the next edition along with a five per cent increase in the players' salary, which will see the total salary cap go to $1.2 million.

Earlier, the retention window was opened this month on May 5 which will last till September 9.

The transfer window will run from June 20 to September 9.
