DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday sustained his party's streak of vengeance towards the opposition at the groundbreaking of the Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway just a day after he failed to impress his opponents in parliament.
Despite saying he would "not discuss his political opponents", the prime minister fell back into his routine of lashing out at the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). He brought up the party's recent loss in the Peshawar PK-8 by-polls, saying: The PTI candidate placed third in the polls because "the people of Peshawar have realised there is no Naya Pakistan coming up.”
"Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is slipping from your hands," he said, addressing the PTI. "You will not even have KP in 2018, much less Pakistan.”
Nawaz performed the groundbreaking ceremony of a gas pipeline and the 285-kilometre-long DI Khan-Hakla Motorway, part of the western leg of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The project is set to be completed in two years at a cost of more than Rs142 billion. Starting at DI Khan, the route will be linked with Mughalkot in Balochistan.
The motorway is set to be constructed in five stages and passes through Pindi Gheb, Sawan, Mianwali, Rokhri, Rehmani Khel and will terminate at Yarik (DI Khan). Today marked the inauguration of the four-lane 55km Yarik-Rehmani Khel stretch of the motorway, estimated to cost Rs2 billion and two years to complete.
The PM also allocated a fund of Rs500 million for development projects in DI Khan, including an agriculture university and an international airport. "Civil Aviation Authority and Pakistan International Airways have been directed to provide facilities to accommodate ATR planes so that international travel is more convenient."
A separate fund of Rs870 million has been reserved for the gas pipeline.

Its a great step but why development of only roads in PMLN Govt because Ittefaq industries make huge revenues... Why no development in education, Health & Hospital sectors. (44% woman living in rural Pakistani areas don't have access to any form of medical facilities during pregnancy) (Pakistan leads 186 nations in Child mortality at Birth) . Growth is extremely important BUT with right priorities.

Its ok to build roads like motorways but the masses use the GT road and look at the state of this GT road. Look at the state of schools and hospitals. Ask your PM to build at least one hospital for the elite so that don't have to travel abroad. Unlike your next door neighbours the Indians are building hospitals and clinics and their doctors are coming back from the US and Canada to run these facilities. SO you like your PM to build motorways when there is hardly any traffic, have gas pipelines when there is no gas running through them...????? what airport? What University?

Mr P.M this is already evident. In Peshawar PTI faced huge embarrassment despite their tall claims of 'Tabdeeli'. At Bannu Jalsa Mr Khan had to face embarrassment from the people who denied any tabdeeli in Bannu. PTI embarrassing defeats in Baluchistan and KPK are enough to show them where they stand. well 2018, everyone is predicting N to win more seats. Peshawar is now with N, Hazara all converted to N support, Punjab is all with N. Blauchistan also now majorly supports N. Bannu rejected Khan and showed him real face. PML N will win 2018 with clear majority and even with more seats.

We asked PTI lawmaker several times to construct road from pour village to next village which is about 400 meters. Estimated cost was Rs.10 Million. despite repeated requests to this PTI lawmaker he never listened to us. We always see this lawmaker in PTI jalsas shouting his heart out against corruption and other things.Mr PTI lawmaker come back to you Halka and do own favour to us build one small road for us to connect with other village it is taking 2 hours to reach there as we have to take very big route. It shall reduce our time to 10 minutes. We promise to support you but atleast perform and do something. See every Punjabi they are happy because of opportunities PML is creating for them. what you have done for us, not even built one simple road of 400 meters. we might not support PTI in next elections.

Very good PM. But the projects inaugurated earlier especially Zhob-Mughalkot 81 kms section forming part of Western route await implementation to be completed within the stipulated period of time. It seems that the federal government failed to generate additional funds for this gigantic project except the ones provided by the ADB to the tune of Rs. 197 million dollar.

We are seeing education when most Kids in Govt are forced to study in open schools under teh skies, we saw reforms when Jutsice Wakih was kicked out and when General ahd to resign citing 60% corruption in KPK. wake please, people are now voting PML N for what they say they are doing even if at a slow pace but they are doing it. Seems like all these projects, that impresses PML supporters, are pretty much land transit routes for Chinese. What does a motorway and pipelines bring to the common people? What did a dysfunctional metro bus and power plants bring? Asides from kickbacks to PML stalwarts? I agree with the PM. PTI will have to do better than simply Dharna politics. With elections in about 18 months PTI still lacks organization to put up an impressive show in elections.

@Salaar Ahmed Khan Actually I have friends in KPK who are medical practitioners. They tell me PTI policies are inclined towards health improvement. I good thing they have done is increase a doctors salary working in interior kpk substantially compared to the ones on the urban side. Its been regarded as one of the many good reforms. Not to mention police restructuring... police officials would rather work in Kpk than in punjab due to the malafide involvement of the corrupt mpas and mnas.

Such actions and speeches are a sign of nervousness and fear. One one hand we don't have money to pay the circular debt and curb the menace of load shedding, no m money to pay the foreign debts, nothing for health, education and poverty alleviation but just promises & on the other hand the PM announces millions and billions on a visit to every other city. Is he paying that out of his own pocket or is it the tax money we are paying that he is using for his own image improvement? At this rate i fear there will nothing but just roads and highways in Pakistan and people will have to live on roads too in makeshift camps by 2018 and fake promises will not work Mr. PM because you can't keep your promises.

@Truth prior to PMLN government the existing industries could not run due to shortage of electricity and the proof is almost strike by the industries workers. NS government has been successful to provide the power to keep the industries running. You build the infrastructure before build the industry. Just yesterday, the Punjab Health Minister informed the Punjab Assembly that 30% - 33% of all Health Centers in Punjab are non-functional or severely underfunded. I strongly recommend that the PM please, please focus on nation-building rather than road building. As long as the nation suffers with lack of education and health facilities, there can be no real development, all these infrastructural projects notwithstanding. Either the PM is too thick to understand this or he and his lot intentionally do not want the human resource of Pakistan to develop an intellect. Sad times indeed.

Now hoarding of huge public wealth/cash, Swiss accounts, Panama leaks, undeclared offshore properties, companies and accounts, broken systems of public health, education, sanitation, polluted environment, water and air, out of control and/or no governance, and lot more. Is all this not Naya Pakistan visible to all like a full moon on clear night?

What should the poor people do with these motorways and metro bus. PM is now PM for the third time but still he can't see clearly what is important and what must be the top priorities.

Using the public money and loans from China and IMF to build roads is a good thing, but you are not doing anything extra ordinary. That is your obligation that you should have fulfilled three years ago. When today you are under pressure you are blaming PTI. PTI is a new party, please give it the opportunity to become the third force. It will help eliminate the monopoly and will bring balance in power and will put Pakistan on a good foot forward.
PML-N is a Nawaz party, dont compare it to the US . There the party doesnt belong to individual families.
So much greed and addiction to power leads to self-destruction.
Please change the laws to limit the PM to only two terms,

PML runs elections like a business, wheeling dealing, back door favors to attract influential to their side. PPP has done the same thing in the past in KP province. Many people in KP shunned both PML and PPP in last elections because of the corruption both parties have brought in buying influential rich class. People voted for a Naya Pakistan concept and I am sure this will happen in other provinces slowly but surely. People are getting fed up with politicians like Nawaz Zardari and others using ethnic calls and who work behind the scenes to make dealings to come to power.

The government keeps breaking ground to build motorways after motorways, how does that help the citizens? Shouldn't those resources be used on education, power sector,schools ? The people continue to sit in the dark with no gas,no electricity,no jobs and no education, most don't even own a car. It all comes down to priorities, and the government is clueless when it comes to that.
