PESHAWAR: Hashish seized

PESHAWAR, Nov 19: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Wednesday seized 1,000kg of hashish from a vehicle during a roadblock on Grant Trunk Road near Jehangera town, said a press release.

Acting upon prior information, the ANF erected barricade on the main GT Road near Jehangera and signalled a double-cabin vehicle No Mansehra A-7871. During the search of the vehicle the ANF team recovered 1,000kg of hashish and one Kalashnikov.

The official statement said that the two accused escaped. However, it did not mention how the smugglers succeeded in escaping despite the presence of armed personnel of the ANF.
