Earlier this year, the carmaker Tesla introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Model 3, to much fanfare. At a price of $35,000, Tesla has touted the Model 3 as its first ‘affordable’ car, and so far 325,000 people around the world have made a $1,000 down payment for one. However, none of the new owners actually have a Model 3 in their garages just yet — Tesla is expected to start mass production of the car in late 2017.
