KARACHI: A sessions court sentenced on Thursday a man to death in a murder case. Mehmood Ahmed was found guilty of killing a man in a Jauharabad locality in 2010.

The additional district and sessions judge (central), Manzoor Ali Khamisani, also directed the convict to pay a compensation of Rs100,000 to the legal heirs of the deceased.

However, the court ruled that the sentence was subject to the confirmation of the high court as required under Section 374 of the criminal procedure code.
