Traffic mess

Published May 5, 2016

I WOULD like to invite the attention of the authorities concerned towards the complete chaos and violation of traffic rules in Lea Market area causing immense hardships and inconvenience to commuters in general and the residents of Lyari Town in particular.

Drivers and owners of large transport vehicles that come to the wholesale milk market park their vehicles in the middle of the roads. To add to the commotion are fruit vendors who place their carts along the thoroughfare further narrowing the road and blocking traffic at this main junction.

This road junction is an important crossroads as it leads to the perpetually busy Khajoor Bazar and adjacent areas like the wholesale medicine market and Marriott Road which has many other wholesale markets. Consequently commuters who have no alternative except using this road face numerous traffic jams. The traffic police seem helpless in controlling the problem.

The authorities are, therefore, requested to take effective steps in this regard to facilitate the commuters.
