QUETTA: Senior Vice President of PML-N Senator Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar has rejected call for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and early elections in the country, adding that law and order and economic situation has improved a lot across the country during the PML-N-led government.

Speaking at a press conference at his residence here on Sunday, he said that the federal government had extended full support to the military leadership when the latter launched operation Zarb-i-Azb against the Taliban and other terrorist groups.

Sardar Nasar criticised opposition parties for levelling corruption allegations against Prime Minister Sharif and said that propaganda against Mr Sharif should now be stopped as he had written a letter to the Supreme Court Chief Justice for forming a judicial commission to investigate the matter.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has set an example for all political parties’ leaders and presented himself and his family for accountability in the wake of Panama leaks scam,” Senator Yaqoob said.

Referring to the prime minister’s visit to Quetta on Monday, the PML-N leader said that Mr Sharif would inaugurate the National Health Insurance Scheme during his visit to the provincial capital.

He said that under the National Health Programme health cards would be issued to a large number of people of Balochistan.

“Under the first phase of the National Health Programme to be launched in Quetta, Loralai, Turbat and Lasbela on Monday, 299,000 poor patients would get free medical treatment ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs250,000,” he said.

He said the issuance of the National Health Card was a gift to the people of Balochistan from Prime Minister Sharif as the PML-N government had been fulfilling all promises it had made in its party manifesto.
