CHINIOT, Nov 17: At least 13 shopkeepers were booked for fleecing customers by violating the Ramazan Ordinance during raids to check the prices of the provisions here on Monday.

The assistant district officer (revenue), Chiniot tehsil, also fined Rs3,000 to shopkeepers and warned them of further strict punishment if they were found guilty.

TWO HELD: The City police claimed to have arrested two drug traffickers-cum-wine distillers here on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the hideout of drug pushers — Mannan and Jaffar — and recovered liquor in huge quantity from their possession.

In another raid, Ramazan was apprehended when he was selling the drug. The police also seized 60 gram heroin from his possession.—PPI
