PESHAWAR, Nov 16: Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that allout efforts will be made to improve the lot of people through provision of basic amenities of life in the neglected areas.

Talking to a delegation of District Charsadda led by PPP-S MPA Arshad Khan at People’s House, the minister said with the removal of backwardness of these areas, pleasant changes would be witnessed in the lives of the people.

Mr Sherpao vowed that all available resources would be utilized for ensuring basic needs to the people and more resources would be generated to redress their grievances.

He said it was the government’s firm conviction to resolve the problems of the people without any procrastination and provide relief at all cost.

On a demand presented by the delegation, the minister announced that upgradation, renovation and repair works would soon be initiated in various parts of district Charsadda in order to overcome the problems like loadshedding, power fluctuation etc.

He directed the Pesco authorities to immediately install eight transformers of 50kv each at village Nisata, and two transformers of 100kv each at village Bobak in District Charsadda.

The electrification of these villages would be completed at a cost of Rs2.6 million which would help mitigate the sufferings of the villagers.

He said that incomplete schemes would shortly be given final touches and new uplift projects would be launched.

The team apprised the minister about their problems regarding the provision of Sui gas and telephone facilities.—APP
