PESHAWAR: In a one-sided encounter, hosts Peshawar Panthers went past Fata Cheetas in the fifth game of the Kaun Bane Ga KPK Ka Champion T20 series taking place in Peshawar.

Batting first Zalmi Fata Cheetas posted a total of 164 in batting friendly conditions at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, the venue for all seven matches of the tournament.

Mohammad Usman who was opening the innings top scored with a stroke-filled 70 off only 48 balls. Khushdil Shah continued his fine form by scoring 55. Pacer Taj Wali snared two wickets.

Zalmi Peshawar Panthers recovered from a poor start to overhaul the target in 18.4 overs, experienced international batting duo of Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan were the architects of the victory with a century stand. Iftikhar and Rizwan both scored half-centuries, the Panthers lost five wickets before gunning down the target of 165.

Rizwan and Iftikhar were jointly given the man of the match award.—
