SAHIWAL: A woman along with her two small kids invaded a marriage hall and thrashed her husband for contracting second marriage without her permission.

Reports said Bushra had married Sadiq about five years back. Ashraf, her father, told Dawn that the couple often quarreled with each other. About five months back the situation forced them to live apart even though they were still married.

Bushra filed a case in a local court and sought expenses for the two children. Sadiq took it as his insult and decided to teach her a lesson. His pir arranged second marriage with the daughter of Sarwar.

An eyewitness said that wedding guests were present and the Nikah ceremony was going on when entered Ashraf, Bushra and her two kids.

Bushra told Sarwar, the father of the bride, that she was the wife of Sadiq. On questioning, Sadiq confirmed to the surprise of Sarwar and all those present there that Bushra was his wife.

Thereafter Bushra, Sarwar and Sadiq started scuffling. Bushra along with her father also thrashed her husband. Seeing the situation, guests felt it better to leave the venue.

It was perhaps too much for the bride as she fell unconscious and was moved to the DHQ Hospital.

Sadiq tendered an apology to Bushra after the marriage ceremony was cancelled. The bride’s father sough police help to recover dowry from Sadiq’s house.
