MUZAFFARGARH: Muzaffargarh DPO Malik Awais Ahmed said the main accused of a gang rape case was arrested here on Monday.

The DPO said the two suspects, including a police official, had already been arrested.

He said the case had been registered on the complaint of a victim on March 26.

He said the arrested main accused, who had secured pre-arrest bail, had allegedly subjected the complainant to gang-rape for eight months.

The DPO said the police had already sent her swab to a laboratory.

He said the main accused had also been arrested about five years ago in a fake currency case, but he was released by a court.

He said the complainant/petitioner had requested the Supreme Court to direct the Punjab chief secretary and the IGP to submit complete record of cases or FIRs in which a number of girls had been victimized through discreet snapping of indecent pictures or videos to blackmail them for sexual favours.

The complainant had been gang raped by her boss of a security agency company along with his servant and a police official.

The victim also threatened to commit self-immolation outside the office of the Muzaffargarh DPO if she was denied justice.
