KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, claimed on Saturday to have seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the residence of a ‘former sector in-charge’ in Korangi and said they had foiled a ‘big conspiracy’ to trigger terrorism in the city.

The paramilitary force, acting on information provided by some detained suspects, raided the house of a former sector in-charge belonging to a militant wing in Bagh-i-Korangi area and found weapons hidden there, said the spokesperson.

The Rangers official did not identify the purported militant wing nor its ex-sector in charge.

Seized arms included one LMG, 15 SMGs and thousands of rounds.

“These arms and ammunition were stockpiled to carry out a big act of lawlessness in Karachi,” claimed the Rangers official.

Two suspected targeted killers were also apprehended during this action, said a Rangers’ statement.
