ISLAMABAD: Scores of students belonging to the National Student Federation on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against what they said hate material in the Sociology of Pakistan book being taught at the college level.

They said the book was propagating hatred against the people of Balochistan. The protestors held banners and placards, condemning the alleged discriminatory, static and extremist contents of the book.

Speaking on the occasion, NSF leader Bevarg Baloch criticised the colonial representation of the Baloch people as uncivilised and said the curriculum of Sociology of Pakistan was justifying the actions of the state towards them.

He said it was one of the reasons successive governments failed to understand the legitimate grievances of the Baloch people. He complained of discrimination in everyday life.
