KARACHI, Nov 10: A delayed diagnosis and inadequate provision for proper management of diabetes type one among children contributes to an estimated 40 per cent to 50 per cent death rate among these children.

The scenario could also be contributed to reluctance to accept that diabetes may inflict children as young as six months and indifference on part of physicians to take due stock of the major symptoms often exposed the children to serious conditions as “Ketoacidosis”, which could be life threatening.— APP
