HYDERABAD, Nov 9: People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur has accused the PPP -Patriots of creating misunderstanding between the government and the opposition.
In a statement faxed to Dawn on Sunday, he said the deserters were blocking efforts to create a working relationship between the government and opposition.
He said following the report of a 12-member committee constituted by the PPP under the leadership of Makhdoom Amin Fahim, it was expected that the opposition would take full part in the National Assembly proceedings and highlight problems confronting the people, besides raising national issues.
The PPP leader said there were also signs that the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy would also take a flexible stand on the floor of the house.
However, he said, the PPP Patriots managed to get ARD president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi arrested which aggravated the situation.
He said the government should not push the PPP against the wall if it wanted to complete its tenure.
The MNA demanded that party chairperson Benazir Bhutto should be allowed to return as, he claimed, she alone could extricate the country from crisis.
He refuted the claim of Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz about the increase in foreign exchange reserves.
He said the majority of people were deprived even of basic facilities like clean drinking water and electricity.
The people, particularly of Sindh, were committing suicides due to poverty and unemployment,he deplored.
He said a worker could not pay gas, electricity and medical bills as minimum wages had been fixed at Rs2,500 per month.
SINDH’S CAUSE: The Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz has endorsed the call of Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah urging the people to unite for the cause of Sindh.
In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, JSMM chairman Shafi Mohammad Burfat and general-secretary Asghar Shah said resources of Sindh were being usurped and state institutions were protecting the interests of one province.
They said the people of Sindh were committing suicides due to poverty and unemployment.
