KARACHI, Nov 9: The birth anniversary of Allama Mohammad Iqbal was commemorated here on Sunday with a resolve to draw inspiration from his thought.

At a declamation contest students paid tributes to the great thinker. They said the nation achieved Pakistan by transforming Allama Iqbal’s ideas into a reality under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The students also stressed the need to draw inspiration from the ideology of Iqbal for making Pakistan strong. The contest was organized by Pakistan Himayat Tehreek.

At a seminar held by Khadmin-i- Millat Pakistan, the speakers said Iqbal devoted his poetry to help realize his dream of Pakistan.

The seminar titled “Iqbal’s poetry is the manifesto of the Republic of Pakistan” was presided over by prominent social worker Saghir Ali Siddiqui.

S.S. Momin, the chief guest, in his address said Iqbal’s poetry gave a message of unity and brotherhood which was a dire need of the nation at present.

Saghir Ali Siddiqui in his presidential address said that very few poets carried purposefulness in there poetry and Iqbal was among the leading ones in that respect.
