School loudspeaker

Published February 18, 2016

I AND my family have been residing in house No. 5/2, Zamzama Street, Clifton, Karachi, for the last 20 years.

A few years back a school was set up in a house, which is exactly behind our house. At the very outset I fail to see the rationale behind having a school in the middle of a residential area and it has to be seen if the school has obtained permission from government authorities.

Besides, very loud music is played in this school every day early in the morning and almost throughout the day. This disturbs children and elderly in my home. Despite our repeated requests, the school administration has not stopped playing the loud music. Playing loud music in a school is even otherwise unheard of. I also believe the use of loudspeakers is prohibited under the Loudspeaker Act.

Authorities concerned should take necessary action against the school for violaing the loudspeaker law.
