FAISALABAD, Dec 28: All the oil depots and terminals located within city will be shifted on places outside Faisalabad by March 31, 2001, to avoid any mishap.

This was stated by district Nazim Chaudhry Zahid Nazir in a meeting here on Thursday.

The Nazim said no oil tanker would be allowed to enter the city limits from April 1 for unloading products or for any other purpose, adding the tankers going to other cities would adopt the bypass around the city.

He asked the oil companies’ representatives and agency managers to complete their storage arrangements at Parco station, Gatti, by March 31.

He directed the authorities concerned to complete repair and extension work on the Parco station Gatti to make it good to sustain the load of heavy vehicles.

Mr Nazir asked FDA Director General Maqsood Khawaja to manage a coordination among various departments, companies and agencies concerned for the shifting of depots in time.

District Coordination Officer Tahir Husain, SSP Tassadaq Husain Chaudhry, EDOs of finance, revenue, works and representatives of Shell, Caltex, Parco, PSO and other oil companies were present on the occasion.
