PESHAWAR: Awami National Party central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Friday said the government would have to review its internal and external policies in light of the National Action Plan.

He said this while talking to journalists after condoling the killings of local trader Haji Haleem Jan and Shia leader Malik Iftikhar Ali Haider here.

The ANP leader warned that if rulers and state institutions did not correct policies and remove ambiguities, then the people would come onto the streets in protest.

He said Shia, Sunni and followers of other religious sects were not safe in the country as everyone was on the target of killers.

Mr. Hussain said that maintaining law and order and eradicating extortion and target killing from the country was the responsibility of the state and the government.

He said that the increase in the incidence of target killings and extortion showed that either the NAP was not being implemented or it had some flaws.
