Selectors snub Miandad

Published November 8, 2003

LAHORE, Nov 7: Pakistan coach Javed Miandad has said that he was not consulted by the selectors about the 22 probables from which the Pakistan team will be finalised for the five ODIs home series against New Zealand, starting from  Nov 22.

Chief selector, Aamir Sohail, announced the names of the probables on Thursday.

Talking to Dawn on Friday, Miandad declared that he only read the names of probables in the newspapers and remarked that it would have been better if he was taken into confidence.

Miandad emphasised that the coach was in better position to offer advice about players to the selectors.
