LAHORE: The Govern-ment College University Debating Society has won 52 positions and prize money of Rs1.7 million in the Chief Minister’s Speech and Essay Competitions 2016 held at provincial, divisional and district levels.

In the provincial level competitions, the orators of the GCU bagged five individual positions whereas at the divisional and district level competitions, 21 and 26 positions were achieved, respectively.

Meanwhile, a delegation of PML-N MPAs visited the Punjab University teachers protesting against the “unlawful” extension to interim VC Mujahid Kamran outside the Punjab Assembly.

Commerce minister Chaudhry Shafique heared their grievances and assured them that the matter would be taken up with the CM.

The teachers are protesting against the VC for over a week.
