SHIKARPUR, Nov 5: The Lakhi Gate police here on Wednesday registered a second FIR in the murder case of

newsman Amir Bakhsh Brohi following a local sessions court order.

Those nominated in the FIR by the father of Mr Brohi are Shahnawaz Brohi, his son, Zulfiqar Brohi, Ghazi Sanjrani, Waheed Brohi and Ghulam Brohi.

Slain journalist’s father Illahi Bakhsh Brohi had filed an application before the court of sessions judge of Shikarpur, requesting him to direct the Lakhi Gate police station SHO to register the second FIR.

Police officials concerned and the applicant appeared before the court and recorded their statements.

Advocate Shahbaz Ali Brohi appeared on behalf of Shahnawaz, one of the accused, and opposed the application.

Acting district attorney, Deedar Ali Shaikh appeared on behalf of the state and supported the registration of the second FIR.

After hearing the application and considering the facts stated in the proposed FIR,

sessions judge Mehar Khan Meo allowed the plea and directed the SHO to register the FIR.
