LAHORE: Mian Abdul Latif, who breathed his last early Wednesday morning, was laid to rest at a local graveyard.

He was the brother-in-law of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal, PML-N leaders Pervaiz Malik, retired Capt Muhammad Safdar, Hussain Nawaz, assembly members, social and political figures and a large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers at Shadman Park.

Meanwhile, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz, Begum Nusrat Shahbaz, the wife of the chief minister, and Hamza Shahbaz went to the residence of late Mian Abdul Latif to condole with the bereaved family.

Mian Abdul Latif was the father of Mian Mohsin Latif, a former MPA.
