2nd T20: Guptill-Williamson break world record in New Zealand's win

Pakistan made 168 for 7 after opting to bat first in the second Twenty20 against New Zealand in Hamilton on Sunday.

Umar Akmal was unbeaten on 56 off 27 deliveries and Shoaib Malik made 39 after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first.

For New Zealand, Mitchell McClenaghan took two for 23.

Pakistan kept the same side that strolled to an easy 16-run win in the opening match in Auckland on Friday.

New Zealand made two changes, replacing new ball bowlers Matt Henry and Trent Boult with batsman Ross Taylor and medium-pacer McClenaghan.

Ahmed shahzad and Shoaib Maqsood deserve to be dropped from all formats we need an opener like Imran Nazir type in T20 Hafeez is a big failure outside asia but riding on his luck so far we all know that he will fail big time in England and Australia hopefully useless Afridi will retire after world cup along him we will see few more usless players going too. As for one day team Azhar ali needs to be sacked from ODI format how can you be a captain all of sudden when you have a tuk tuk strike rate and been out of the odi team for 2 years?? Only happens in Pakistan.

Not encouraging performance 11 overs are already gone and only 73 runs have been scored and three players are sent back. Unless we play fearlessly I doubt we can be around 120 in 20 overs which is not challenging score to be honest . Don't pressurize Afridi any more otherwise, God forbid, his batting could be effected and then we are doomed. Speed up, speed up as whole nation is watching you. Pakistan was like on oxygen before Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik have joined hands but the pair has really played very well and got rid of oxygen and I wish they play at least 2 more overs if not more so that we do not face any humiliation. NZ openers have already scored half on the score in half overs and if they continue alike I doubt others sitting with pads on will be required to bat so I advise the openers not to be too selfish and let others batsmen bat. The couple must realise that they are playing as a team member and not otherwise. I wish Williamson and Guptill listen to the advice given by someone who is a senior Pakistani citizen aged 72. At the end of 12th over the only consolation for Pakistan is that NZ run rate has come down to 8.33 whereas we scored at 8.40 but they can accelerate it any time. Caution. Afridi and his team should adopt such logistics that run rate goes still the less so that we win the game otherwise at least I am clueless as to how we can trounce NZ. As long as we don't change our outdated strategy we will lose. As long as one wicket falls, we go in to the test cricket mode. Win or lose play for 200 from the first ball you face. Shehzad and Maqsood are not T20 players. Hafeez hits boundries but plays too many dots. Sarfraz must play at 3 and Umar Akmal at 4. And Anwer Ali must play instead of Maqsood.
