KARACHI, Nov 4: The Maritime Security Agency ship, Barkat, rescued 11 fishermen after the engine of their boat developed a fault near Pasni.

The MSA ship found the fishing vehicle, Allah Nigahban, in distress with 11 fishermen on board in an area south of Pasni. The boat had been drifting with the wind and tide since the last seven days.

The Karachi-registered boat had left Gwadar on Oct 23 and developed an engine fault on October 26.

The MSA ship towed it to the Pasni fish harbour where fishermen were being looked after at the MSA base.

The boat will restart its operation after necessary engine repairs, a MSA press release said on Tuesday.—PPI
