HYDERABAD, Nov 4: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Tuesday directed the investigation wing in charges of Khanote and Wada Chachar police stations, Dadu district, to appear before the court on Nov 5.

The order was passed in connection with an application about the wrongful detention submitted by a woman, Bibi Birhamani, about wrongful detention of her son, Sher Mohammad.

Giving background, she said that her son had married Shabana but later, relations between them got strained after which the police took away her son at the instance of Shabana’s father on Oct 26.

She stated that Mr Mohammad was kept in wrongful detention and being subjected to torture and added that she approached SHO concerned who threatened to implicate him in a false case.

She stated that on Oct 27, some area people including Haji Moharram Ramzan and Mir Khan went to the police station where the SHO held them in wrongful confinement for four hours.

Mrs Birhamani said that nobody was allowed to meet her son and added that the police acts had been violating fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.

She prayed the court to issue an order for the recovery of her son.

In response to an earlier court notice, the Khanote operation SHO said that he did not pick up the applicant’s son as he was not required in any case.

The Wada Chachar SHO, however, told the court that a case was lodged against the detainee under sections 11 and 16 of Zina Hudood Ordinance and 343, PPC, and he had handed over the FIR to the investigation wing after registering it.

He said that the allegations levelled against him were incorrect.

The court directed the Sindh additional advocate-general to ensure that both the investigation wing in-charges of two police stations attended the court on November 5.
