GUJRANWALA, Nov 3: An SHO was suspended from service on Monday for stopping the car of special branch superintendent police at a picket.

Reports said the Civil Lines police had set up a picket on the Hospital Road. A constable stopped a car the owner of which introduced himself as special branch SP Farooq Mazhar. The SP scolded the constable and called SHO Amir Shaheen Gondal, and asked him to check his vehicle by himself.

The SHO apologized to the senior policeman for stopping his car, saying the constable could not identify him.

However, the SP apprised the DIG of the incident after which the latter suspended the SHO from service and issued him show cause notice.
