KARACHI, Nov 3: A man committed suicide in Keamari on Monday.
Police said that Haji Nasir, 50, shot himself in the chest with a 12-bore rifle in his house in Hasan Manzil, Bhutta Village. He died on the spot. Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.
KILLED: Unknown persons killed a young man in Mangopir on Monday.
Police said that the body of an unidentified young man was found from a deserted place in Mangopir. Police said the victim had suffered a head injury inflicted by a hard and blunt weapon. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
ACCIDENT: A woman passenger was seriously injured when speeding minibus (JE-2309) and water tanker collided on Sharae Faisal prior to Iftar on Monday.
The collision resulted in overturning of the water tanker. The woman was taken to the JPMC, where she was admitted for treatment.
Following the accident, police blocked the road to remove the damaged vehicles and arrested drivers of the two vehicles.
BODY RECOVERED: The body of a young man was washed ashore at the Sea View on Monday.
Police said that the unidentified victim was in his mid 20’s. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination. Police said that the cause of his death could not be ascertained immediately.
ROBBERY: The house of prominent artist Guljee was robbed late Friday night.
Police said that unknown persons entered the house of Guljee located in Block-5 of Clifton and escaped with cash and valuables worth millions of rupees. A significant amount of foreign currency was also taken away from the house, they added.
Apart from the foreign currency, police said that saving certificates worth Rs300,000 and jewellery worth 700,000 was also stolen from the house.
Mr Gulgee lodged an FIR with the Boat Basin police station on Saturday. He nominated his four employees in the FIR 180/2003.
Police claimed to have arrested three suspects while the fourth suspect was still absconding.
