KARACHI, Nov 3: The Sindh Service Tribunal set aside the dismissal of an employee of the Sindh Arid Zone Development Authority and ordered his reinstatement on Monday.

The employee’s counsel, Mansoorul Haq Solangi, submitted that an inquiry under the efficiency and discipline rules was held against his client and he was exonerated from the charges levelled against him. Another inquiry was ordered without assigning any reason. The subsequent inquiry was conducted without a notification issued by the authorized officer. However, it found the employee guilty.

Without the employee having been heard or a copy of the findings furnished to him, he was dismissed from service on the basis of the second inquiry report. There were other violations of the efficiency and discipline rules.

A tribunal bench comprising its chairman, Justice Abdul Ghani Shaikh (retired), and member Noor Ahmed Shah found the impugned order untenable and set it aside.
