TTP claims IED attack on army truck near Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway toll plaza

PESHAWAR: A soldier was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast near a security forces vehicle on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway toll plaza on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

Eleven soldiers were on board the vehicle, which was partially damaged.

Following the explosion, which was later claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) via an email to journalists, the motorway was sealed and aerial surveillance of the area was conducted.

Initial investigations by the Bomb Disposal Squad revealed the IED comprised 4 kilograms of explosive material.

The police from Swabi Interchange to Peshawar Motorway Toll Plaza is sleeping........People are always crossing the barbed wire across this stretch of road and robbing people also........my friend got robbed here and the robbers crossed the barbed wires and fled away................need to make this section more secure.......it is my advise to people not to stop their cars on this stretch of motorway and not to give anybody lift.......Try not travelling on this section from 0000 hrs to 0500 hrs.........

Where is efficient motorway POLICE. At motorway, how IED ambushes the truck or was it a land mine concealed under the motorway which caused damage to the military truck.
