Zimbabwe ‘A’ escape with draw

HARARE, Nov 2: Zimbabwe A reached 246-9 in reply to West Indies’ 343-6 declared to pull off a fighting draw in Harare.

Craig Evans hit 59 for the hosts in their second innings, while Gavin Ewing remained defiant on 42.

Jerome Taylor took 6-58 for the West Indies and Vasbert Drakes chipped in with two but Zimbabwe rallied from 191-8.

Earlier, Marlon Samuels blasted 147, while Daren Ganga hit 69 not out in the visitors’ second innings.

The West Indies are preparing for a two-Test and five-match one-day series against Zimbabwe.

The first Test starts on 4 Nov in Harare.—PPI
