WANA (South Waziristan), Nov 2: The political agent of South Waziristan on Sunday released a 10-year-old boy arrested under Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) and suspended two officials.

The boy, Jan Shah, belongs to Mehsud Abdulae tribe against which the administration has started a crackdown two days ago, asking them to surrender certain anti-social elements wanted by the administration.

After the issue appeared in the press, the political agent, Azam Khan, visited the lock-up at Tank and ordered that the boy should be released immediately.

He also suspended the political mohrar Fazal Khan Gandapur and in-charge of the lock-up Afsar Khan for arresting the boy. Azam Khan ordered assistant political officer, Syed Shahab Ali Shah to conduct an inquiry in that matter.

The father of Jan Shah has already been arrested by the administration. Under the FCR the administration is empowered to arrest any person of the locality in which an offence had taken place.
