Mir Punjabi Mela today

LAHORE: In recognition of the services of Prof Ali Arshad Mir for Punjabi literature, “7th Mir Punjabi Mela” is being held at the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (Pilac) on Monday (today).

The event that will start at 5pm is being organised by the Prof Ali Arshad Mir Foundation. Awards will be given to poets Baba Najmi and Raja Sadiqullah and researcher Iqbal Qaisar to acknowledge their work in Punjabi language and literature. Mir, also known as the Homer of Punjab, was a legendary Punjabi poet and writer.

His works have been translated into many languages.
