Saddar Town triumph

KARACHI, Nov 1: Saddar Town CC began their quest for the Eighth Danish Trophy in style, upsetting Afzal Sports by 24 runs at the KGA ground on Saturday.

Saddar Town were dismissed for 133 runs in 19.1 overs with Tariq Hussain (40) and Qambar Ali (29), among the runs. Zahid ullah Jan was the pick of the Afzal Sports attack, claiming four wickets for 24 runs.

Afzal Sports in reply were bundled out for 109 runs in 18.1 overs, with Qambar Ali three for 14 did the most damage. Babar Qureshi (27), top scored for the losers. Faisal Amin chipped in with 20.

Noor Memorial win

Noor Memorial CC beat Punjab CC by 26 runs in the All-Karachi Arif Memorial Ramazan league played at the Punjab ground.

Noor Memorial did well in scoring 184 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs with Adnan Mohammad (79) and Nadeem Mohammad in good nick. Azim Ashraf picked up three wickets for 35 runs.

Punjab CC were bowled out for 158 runs off the very last ball of the stipulated 20 overs. Tanzeem Gul (46) and Asif Khan (24) batted steadily, as Adnan Mohammad returned with the best figures of three for 24.
