Action against TPO sought

KHAIRPUR, Nov 1: District Nazim Nafeesa Shah has demanded that the police authorities should book the Agra TPO and conduct an investigation against him for chopping government-owned trees in the rural development centre, Agra, Gambat taluka.

In a fax message sent to the provincial police chief and others officials on Saturday, she alleged the matter was referred to the Khairpur DPO and anti-corruption establishment circle officer but they did not take any action.

BOOKED: The ‘A’ section police here on Friday registered a case against 12 persons on the charges of obstruction in performance of official duty.

According to the police, they received information that some persons were gambling in Jamali village.

The police reached the place and tried to arrest the accused but they were restrained by the villagers who attacked the police party with stones and bricks, the police said.

Later, the police booked Wazir Ali, Haji Sarwar, Imam Bukhsh, Jabbar Shah, Bilo Shah, Ghulam Sarwar, Guhram Khan, Anwar Ali Shah, Nadeem and Wali Muhammad Jamali.

CLASH: The residents of Sujawal Khaskheli village of Faiz Gunj taluka on Friday clashed with a police party of Lakha Road, the bordering town of Khairpur district.

The Lakha Road police arrived in the village following footprints of some theft accused and wanted to arrest some villagers but the villagers offered resistance as a result the clash took place.

The villagers told journalists that four villagers were injured in the clash whereas the police claimed that three police officials were also injured.
