LAHORE: Jamali calls on Mansoor

Published November 2, 2003

LAHORE:, Nov 1: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Saturday met PDP president Mansoor Khan and offered his condolences over the death of his father, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, whose Chehlum would be attended by leaders of various parties on Sunday (today).

The premier told Mr Mansoor that he had not been able to participate in the funeral because he was out of the country at the time.

Mr Jamali also visited the residence of PML-N MNA Pervaiz Malik and congratulated him on the marriage of his son.

Mr Malik told the prime minister that the government had arrested ARD president Javed Hashmi without any justification.

Mr Jamali, however, refused to offer any comments, saying this was not the right time to raise the issue.

He told reporters he could not say whether ARD president Javed Hashmi would be tried by an ordinary court or a special court.

He said political leaders should be flexible in their attitude and should not violate the law. —Staff Reporter
