ISLAMABAD: Former Test skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq believes that Mohammad Amir’s inclusion in the national camp is good for Pakistan cricket.

“He did well in the Bangladesh Premier League and if he can come up with similar performances for the Pakistan team in the future, it will be great,” Inzamam said.

On the upcoming match between Pakistan and India scheduled next year in the World Twenty20 to be held in India, Inzamam-ul-Haq felt the hosts had the edge.

“Pakistan have entered every World Cup with the hope of breaking that jinx [of beating India],” Inzamam was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.

“Both teams are good and the competition will be tough. But India hold the edge here as they haven’t lost to Pakistan yet in a World Cup match and this barrier Pakistan will have to break,” added the former skipper.

Like most optimists, Inzamam was also of the view that the two countries should play more cricket with each other.

“I remember I was the captain when the Indian team toured Pakistan some 11 years ago. The Indian players were warmly received everywhere. When we travelled to India, we received the similar treatment.

“Now Pakistan will be touring India for the World T20. I believe if that can happen, then a series can also be played,” he asserted.
