Rs134.2bn collected in four months

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: The Central Board of Revenue collected a total amount of Rs134.2 billion during the first four months of current financial year which was on a par with the target.

In addition to that, official spokesman stated, it was expected that the tax collection would go up further by Rs1 billion after the figures up to October 31 were finalized after nearly 10 days.

The figure of Rs134 billion also marks an improvement of about 7.4 per cent as compared to the collection for the corresponding four-month period of the previous year.

The provisional revenue figure for October is Rs40.1 billion as against Rs36.4 billion collected during the corresponding month of previous year.

As regards the figure for the period July-October, it comprised Rs18 billion as sales tax, Rs6.5 billion as customs duty, Rs3.3 billion as CED and Rs12.3 billion as income tax.
