Siblings separated during partition reunite

GUJRANWALA: A family in Maju Chak is celebrating a tearful reunion with one of their sons separated at the time of partition in Rajuri in Indian held Kashmir.

A family after migrating from India in 1947 settled in Maju Chak of Gujranwala district along with their four sons and two daughters. However, the family lost their fifth son in India.

A man who knew the family of the separated boy told Salmat Hussain Gujjar of Maju Chak that their lost brother (Ghulam Hussain) was living in India.

The two brothers got in contact with each other and Ghulam Hussain made a journey to Gujrnawala to meet his family after 65 years.

Ghulam Hussain said that he was born on July 1, 1947 and got separated from his family when he was only seven-month-old.

The Muslims of India love Pakistan because we care for them more than the Indians. We are different from India religiously, ethnically, racially, linguistically. Though we respect and appreciate them for being our neighbors.

Only 20% north Indian Hindi speaking states have interest in pak , rest 80% India, north east, south have no language or cultural similarities with pak

These are the unknown cases but what about the known relatives who cant meet each other due to Political conflicts between Pakistan and India. My friends, give Kashmir its right, and the Indo-Pak conflict ends with no more conflict and hatred for the future

Even if partition was must, it was handled very badly by then leaders. People are bearing cost for generations.

India needs to grow up and resolve Kashmir, it is an unfinished agenda of partition. Than, we can start living like 3 brothers, Pakistan, Indian and Bangladesh.

Terrible story with a good ending. Our elders tells us horrible tales of mass slaughter of Muslims in East Punjab and Jammu down to the last child, river Beas filled with dead bodies, trains to Lahore being highjacked and whole families slaughtered down to last woman and child. I know people who saw their entire village of thousands of people being killed and only a few escape. Atleast in Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam ordered the Pakistani Amry to escort the Sikh and Hindus who wanted to migrate to the border. Nehru never gave such orders.

@Selvraj ... its obvious u dont know much about Pakistan. . Even all of Pakistan is not similar. . Different languages different races .. but what common is that we can understand each other hindi and urdu almost are same hence the point. . Both countries aren't much different

@PAK blood is same all over the world. But many different nations and problem starts when one nation Gujarat starts dictating to other nations Kashmir, as to what they can or cannot do.

@ibnarastoo So you live in India but do not love your country? You should go to Pakistan because that is where your love and loyalty is. This proves the point that ruling party in India has been trying to make; that Indian Muslims are not loyal to India. By the way most of Indian/Pakistani Muslims were converted to Islam during the Muslim rule in India. Millions of them did not come from Arabia/Persia as many of you think you did.

@Khwarezmi There were identical slaughters of Hindus, which OUR elders talk about. Read for example ``Freedom at Midnight''. Or read about ``Direct Action Day'' and what happened in Calcutta. The point is, the victims on both sides could see only what was going around them, they could not have seen what was happening where people of their religion were the majority at the time of the violence.

I think the only real solution is a reunion. What is the big deal if one part of my nation India is a Muslim majority area ? Present Pakistan territory can remain a Muslim majority area and over the next 50- 100 years normal human intra nation migration activity can take over. All of India and Pakistan should be one.

Sad. What pain the parents must have endured for all these years. Peace is a win win situation. War and hatred are lose lose situations. Indians and Pakistanis are the same people. We should work together for Peace.
