HYDERABAD, Oct 30: As many as 18 police officers of Sindh have qualified for the United Nation’s peace missions in Liberia and Kosovo following a test conducted by a UN team in Islamabad in the last week of October.
Dadu Additional DPO Jamshed Kazi topped the test for the peace mission in Liberia.
Other officials of the Sindh police selected for the peace missions are Mehmood Dogar (Karachi), Qadir Qayyum (Karachi), Nasir Rajput (Shahdadpur), Munir Sheikh (Karachi), Younus Chandio (Matiari), Amin Yousufzai (Mirpurkhas), Waliullah Dal (AIG operations), Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Ajmal Khan Magsi, Sharjil Kharal, Hussain Asghar, Mujahid Akbar Ghayasuddin Rashdi, Ali Sher Jakhrani, Akhtar Gorchani, Syed Ali Mohsin and Alauddin Abbasi.
The officials have been selected for one year and will leave for Kosovo and Liberia in different batches. The first batch is expected to leave for Liberia on Dec 3.
Out of 408 police officers, 263 cleared the test, conducted by UN’s Ms Margaret (Sweden), Mr Vladmir (Russia) and Mr Boris (Denmark).
ADVISER: The adviser to the Sindh chief minister on health affairs, Noman Saigal, has expressed his displeasure over the way house officers are resorting to protest.
He said that problems could be resolved through negotiations.
According to the coordinator of the adviser in Hyderabad, Dr Waseem Shaikh, Mr Saigal contacted him by telephone to ascertain facts regarding the house officers’ protest.
The coordinator informed the adviser that the protest pertained to the non-payment of two-month stipend to the house officers and non-availability of medicines in the OPD and other wards of the Civil Hospital of Hyderabad.
He said the Sindh finance department had not approved the ad hoc arrangement of stipend for the house officers.
He said that a correspondence was going on between the hospital administration and the finance department to resolve the issue.
