PESHAWAR, Oct 30: The NWFP bi-party Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government is promoting sectarianism and engulfing the rights of the other schools of thought.

This was stated by Ghulam Sarwar, Nazim-i-Aala, Tanzeem ul Madaris (Ahl-i-Sunnah) Pakistan, at a press conference held here at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday. He was accompanied by Tanzeem ul Madaris President Hafiz Abdul Azim and Secretary Coordination Shams ur Rehman Shams.

Mr Sarwar alleged that the provincial government was promoting sectarianism as they were only promoting the people of Deuband school of thought.

He said they strongly condemned this biased and prejudiced act of the provincial government and added that they had written a letter to the chairman of the MMA, Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani. If they do not get any response from the chairman, they will began a protest against the provincial government, he warned.

He said the government had declared the certificates of four boards including Rabitaul Madaris, Tanzeemul Madaris, Wafaqul Madaris and Wafaqul Madaris (Al-Hadith) as valid and equivalent to the degree of MA Arabic and Islamiat. But the provincial government is only accepting the degree of Wafaqul Madaris (Deuband school of thought) and has rejected all other authentic certificates of the other boards, he said.—PPI
