LAHORE: The 972nd three-day Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh began here on Tuesday after Punjab Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Ata Muhammad Maneka and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar laid wreath on the shrine.

The devotional activities started with recitation from the Holy Quran and Na’at. After laying the wreath, dua was offered for the solidarity and security of the country and success of operation Zarb-i-Azb. A milk sabeel was also inaugurated.

Speaking to the journalists, the provincial minister said the teachings of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh were a beacon for the Muslims. He said the best possible arrangements had been made for the devotees. He said special care had been taken for providing food and other dole-outs to the visitors.

Later, the ministers inaugurated a language/computer lab at Jamia Hajveria Data Darbar and Ishaq Dar also announced a grant of Rs7 million for it.

In a briefing, officials said Jamia Hajveria offered a beautiful combination of old and contemporary education and the lab would provide training of spoken English and Arabic and courses of computer applications and office professional, computer hardware and network professional and mobile repairing would also be conducted.
