QUETTA: The Frontier Corps, Balochistan, has arrested 13 suspects from parts of Makran and Nasirabad divisions and seized weapons. One suspect was injured during the action, officials said.

An FC spokesman said on Friday that the security personnel conducted a search operation in Kohar and Rodband areas in Tump.

“FC launched search operation in Kohar and Rodband areas following intelligence about the presence of militants belonging to a banned militant organisation and took 10 suspects into custody,” he said.

The official said that one RPG 7 with rounds, one SMG with seven magazines and 120kg hashish were found in their possession.

He said that during a similar action conducted in Pat Feeder Canal area of Nasirabad division three suspected militants were detained. “One militant was injured in the exchange of fire with FC personnel,” the spokesman said.

The suspects were being interrogated, he added.
