KARACHI: Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah urged the American Business Council (ABC) to give proposals for simplifying taxation procedures in the next provincial budget.

Addressing the council’s CEO round-table meeting on Thursday the minister said that the government was making business-friendly policies, undertaking infrastructure development projects and taking concrete steps to improve the law and order.

He also provided details about various projects planned for Karachi. The ABC members expressed their concerns regarding the rising cost of doing business in the province on account of various levies and taxes.

“The provincial government needs to formulate long-term, strong, efficient and business friendly policies and share the road map of its strategy to simplify the taxation structure and improve Karachi’s infrastructure which will encourage the business community to expand and invest,” said ABC President Nadeem Elahi.
