KARACHI: City govt sets up price monitoring centres

KARACHI, Oct 28: In order to check overcharging and profiteering in Ramazan, City District Government Karachi has established a number of complaint centres in various towns.

According to a CDGK announcement, these centres have been established as under:

Malir Town: Liaquat Market; Malir No 15, Kala Board; Mohammadi Market, Khokhrapar.

Liaquatabad Town: Super Market; Gole Market; Nazimabad Chowrangi No 1.

North Nazimabad Town: Hyderi Market; Chandni Chowk, Paposh Nagar; Block M Market.

New Karachi: Industrial Area; Sindhi Hotel sector 5-M; UP More, Sector 11-C,

Korangi Town: Korangi-2; Bilal Chowrangi.

Gulshan-i-Iqbal: Bahadurabad, UC-2; near Rab medical centre; Al-Hamra Society, Tipu Sultan Road; near Disco Bakery; near Baitul Mukkaram Masjid; Jauhar Chowrangi.

Jamshed Town: Soldier Bazar; Tariq Road, behind Cafe Liberty; Mehmoodabad.

Landhi Town: Babar Market; Korangi No -5.

Shah Faisal Town: Market Shah Faisal Colony 1; Main Bazar, Rafah-i-Aam.

Bin Qasim Town: Quaidabad; Ibrahim Haideri.

Gadap Town: Memon Goth; Maymarabad.

Gulberg Town: Karimabad; Water Pump; Al-Noor.

Orangi Town: Orangi 11- 1/2; Orangi No 14; Aligarh Colony.

Baldia Town: 24-Market, Chandni Chowk; Turk Market.

Site Town: Bara Board, Pak Colony; Banaras Chowk/Qasba.

Keamari Town: Grax Village, Mauripur Road; Hussain Bux, Market, Massan Road.

Lyari Town: Jhatpat Market, Chawkiwara; Khaddah Market, Baghdadi.

Saddar Town: Jodia Bazar; Burnes Road; Empress Market; Dehli Colony; Defence Phase-IV; Clifton; Ranchore Lane.

People have been requested to cooperate with the CDGK in this regard and purchase the commodities at notified prices only. In case of any complaint of overcharging, it should be registered at the nearest price complaint centre between 9am and 6pm.

DDOs (Revenue) in every town have been conferred with first class magisterial powers who would conduct raids to check overcharging and profiteering.
